Built for how councils decide
- A written scope with equipment, cabling and labour listed separately
- Options and phasing, so work can match this year's budget or the next
- Camera location plans showing what each camera covers
- Plain-language summaries suitable for a council meeting or owners' information
- Coordination with your property manager and caretaker for access and notices
Privacy for residents
Strata corporations are covered by BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) when they record video. We plan coverage around common property, avoid views into units, use privacy masks where needed, and set up individual viewing logins and a retention period, so a camera policy is easy to follow.
Minimal disruption
We schedule work with the property manager, give notice for any door or system downtime, and phase fob migrations so residents always have working entry. Work areas are kept tidy throughout.
After the install
Your property manager or council gets admin access, a short walkthrough and documentation of every device and cable. Our workmanship is backed by a 1-year warranty.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Does a new camera or fob system need owner approval?
That depends on your bylaws, budget and the scope of work, so check with your property manager. We provide a written scope and options that work for either a council decision or an owners' meeting.
Can the property manager manage fobs remotely?
Yes. Fobs and phone credentials can be added, changed or disabled from the UniFi Access app or web portal, without a visit to the building.
Can the work be phased?
Yes. Many buildings start with parkade and entrance cameras or the main doors, then add the rest in a later budget year. The system is designed so later phases slot in cleanly.
Who can view the camera footage?
Only people the council authorizes. Each person has their own login, so access can be limited and removed when council members change.
Is the installation covered by a warranty?
Yes. Our workmanship is covered for one year from completion, and the equipment carries the manufacturer's warranty. OwlGuard is fully insured and WorkSafeBC registered.
