Structured cabling: Cat6, fibre and rack builds
The cabling behind your cameras, door access, WiFi and office network. OwlGuard installs and terminates copper and fibre, builds and tidies racks, and labels every run so it can be traced in seconds.
What we do
- New Cat6 and Cat6A runs for workstations, access points, cameras and door readers
- Fibre links between floors, rooms and buildings
- Rack and cabinet installs, patch panels and cable management
- Cleanups of crowded, unlabelled network closets
- Testing and labelling of every run
- Cable pathways, J-hooks and conduit where the building needs them
Why it matters
Labelled end to end
Every jack, patch port and cable carries the same ID, so troubleshooting takes minutes.
Tested before handoff
Each run is tested after termination, before any equipment depends on it.
Tidy racks
Proper patch lengths, cable management, power and airflow.
Ready for growth
Spare capacity planned in, so adding a camera or access point later is simple.
Cleaning up an existing network closet
If your network closet is a tangle nobody wants to touch, we can document what's there, remove dead cabling, re-patch in an orderly way and label everything, usually with minimal downtime and scheduled around your hours.
Low-voltage specialists
We focus on low-voltage data cabling. Where a rack or new equipment needs a dedicated electrical circuit, that work is done by a licensed electrician.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Cat6 or Cat6A?
Cat6 suits most offices, cameras and access points. Cat6A is worth it for longer runs, multi-gig WiFi 7 access points or anywhere you want extra headroom. We'll recommend one per run in the proposal.
Do you label and test every cable?
Yes. Each run is labelled at both ends and tested before handoff, and you get a record of what goes where.
Can you work in an occupied building?
Yes. We schedule disruptive work around your hours, keep work areas tidy and clean up at the end of each day.
Is the installation covered by a warranty?
Yes. Our workmanship is covered for one year from completion, and the equipment carries the manufacturer's warranty. OwlGuard is fully insured and WorkSafeBC registered.
